St Alban's Church

On Vision Sunday, Alex spoke about our growing partnership with St Alban’s church in Copnor.
St Alban’s is a Church of England church that we have been partnering with over the last 12 months to see if we can encourage and support mission and outreach, particularly amongst young families.
Church planting is in our DNA, and we want to play our part in seeing churches all over Portsmouth and beyond flourishing, full of life and serving the needs of the local community.
In October last year we launched a Tots and Toddlers group at St Alban’s which has seen over 290 families come along. It’s a place where Mums, Dads, Grandparents and carers can bring their little ones to play, while enjoying free coffee and croissants, and an opportunity to have a grown up conversation. We’ve been amazed at how God has used Tots and Toddlers to reach people in that community.
In January this year we launched a parenting course. The course is an opportunity for a group of people to discuss parenting, to learn top tips from parenting experts and to share any struggles. 15 Mums did the course, and this term we are running the parenting course on Thursday evenings.
Over the next few months we’re launching a marriage course at St Alban’s, as well as working with Copnor Junior school.
On September 24th the Sunday morning service time at St Alban’s will move from 10.30am to 9.30am, so we can play a greater role in supporting that Sunday service. We’re kicking off that service with a Harvest celebration, and everyone is welcome to come along.
