A Safe Harbour at Christmas

A safe Harbour at Christmas

At Harbour, we do church 24/7, 365 days of the year. We believe that church doesn't stop when we're busy, or it's not convenient. And we believe that on Christmas Day, everyone deserves a party!

That's why this December 25th, a group of Harbour Church heroes will be serving Christmas Dinner at Harbour Coffee House to the local community: those that are alone, those that have nowhere to go, and those that need to be reminded that there's people in their local church that love them to bits.

Our guests can expect a cracking meal; you know the drill – turkey, stuffing, cranberry – all that fab festive food. More than that though, they can expect the warmest smiles on the South Coast, the friendliest faces and a genuinely great time.

"Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.” John 13:34-35

At Christmas, it's easy to forget, in the hustle and bustle of our own plans, that (to quote a classic) "there's a world outside your window, and it's a world of dread and fear". But we have the answer: it's Jesus.

What better way to practise what we preach, than to get alongside the people of Portsmouth that need a bit of love this Christmas. To shine a light and share the hope of the world with those that really need to hear it.

Feeling fired up? We need a team of 15 to help on Christmas Day. As a volunteer, you'll be part of our friendship team – sitting, eating (and laughing!) with guests and providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and great company.

Interested? For all the details, and more info on getting involved with the Friendship team, drop a line to Daisy Gandey at
